Oh to be two and a half years old and to have the whole world in front of me to explore!  So many things to see and discover...especially in the woods in the Fall.  

I was so nervous that we would have to reschedule this photo session because it drizzled most of the earlier part of the day.  It actually sprinkled a little while I was waiting on the Ladd's to arrive.  But then it was clear for our session.  The ground was slightly damp but that didn't stop six year old Ryan and 2.5 year old Thomas from having fun exploring the leaves. 

Thomas was exactly what I expect from all my two year olds...not the least bit interested in photos.  That is fine with me since I prefer to capture them exploring the world around them, instead of posed, cheesy smiles.   It's actually what I love about 2 year olds.  I never have to worry about them looking fake because they don't know any other way to be but authentic.  They are perfect.   

What was unexpected was how sweet big brother Ryan was with his little brother.  He was so patient with him and such a big help with getting Thomas to go where we wanted him to go.  Often with younger kids, my goal is just to get them in an area where the lighting and background is interesting, and then just let them be and capture what I see.  Ryan was so helpful in getting his little brother in the right spots.  Thomas certainly is lucky to have a big brother like Ryan looking out for him.
