Local Spotlight: MOMS Club of Spring Hill, TN Open House | Spring Hill, TN Family PhotographerAre you a Spring Hill mom who sometimes feels lonely, or frustrated, or like you just need to find someone to talk to who gets how very gut wrenching / amazing/ exhausting /rewarding this job called motherhood can be? I want to invite you to check out the MOMS Club of Spring Hill this Friday at Harvey Park. When I left the corporate world in 2009, all my friends were old guys (you know who you are). I loved them, but they didn't know much about playdates, and tantrums (at least the toddler kind) or what it was like to be a stay-at-home mom. I was lucky. I had met the wife of one of my coworkers a couple of times at business functions. Her name was Alia and her kids were about the same age as mine. I didn't know her very well, but she was kind enough to reach out to me through her husband when she found out I was leaving GM. She invited me to join the MOMS Club. So the very first week I was at home, I showed up at a business meeting and joined. Alia moved away not long after that, but I am grateful that she took the time to tell me about the club and make me feel welcome. I'm not sure what my life as a stay-at-home mom would have been like without that invitation, but I'm sure it would have been a lot lonelier. Through the MOMS Club, I have made amazing friends, experienced tons of fun things to do with my kids, and found my village. I know it's scary to make that first step, but I promise we are all moms just like you. Here are just few examples of things we do in the MOMS Club: brunches, playdates at Shining Light Gymnastics, Moms' Night Out/In, field trips to Lucky Ladd Farms, organizing care calendars after a baby's birth, service projects and so much more. If you are interested in finding out more, the MOMS Club of Spring Hill is having a Member Drive this Friday, April 17th from 10am-12pm at Harvey Park. A representative from the SHPD will be there making child ID cards (free for the first card and $3 for each additional), and Tchoupitoulas Street Snoballs will be there selling Snoballs. If you can't make it to the drive, please email [email protected] for information on how you can join.
MOMS Club of Spring Hill is a local chapter of MOMS Club International, a 501c3 organization. Our mission is to support stay-at-home mothers through daytime activities with their children. Mothers of school age children are also welcome to join. As a long time member of the club, if you have any specific questions, feel free to ask them in the comments section or email me and I will do my best to answer them. Comments
