Bradley's Senior Portrait Session at the Factory at Franklin | Franklin, TN PhotographerWhen Bradley's mom, Kim, first contacted me about scheduling a senior portrait session, she only intended for Bradley to be in the photographs. But when I asked if she would like to include other people, she mentioned that she had not had pictures made of her daughter since she had been a senior in high school four years earlier. She also said that it would be nice to have a few family photos of all three of them. I think it is always important to get family photos on a regular basis so we decided to combine Bradley's senior portrait session with a family session. That made scheduling a little tougher since we had to choose a time when big sister Emily was home from college for spring break. But we were able to make it work, and I'm so glad we did because it was so much fun to shoot the three of them. I know I've said this before, but I absolutely love shooting at the Factory at Franklin. The entire building is just full of gorgeous spots to shoot portraits, both inside and outside. The variety is amazing, with very urban factory type backdrops along side pretty little natural outdoor areas. On this particular day, we were sharing the factory as apparently CMT was shooting a video there, so we were asked to stay out of certain areas of the building. (And of course I didn't see anyone famous...that's always my luck). But that was no big deal at all, as there are so many areas to shoot in. If you are interested in scheduling a portrait session at the Factory, please note that there is a $50 permit fee for using the facility, but it is SO worth it. I just can't get enough of it. I think I particularly love it for seniors. Speaking of seniors, that is not my typical genre to shoot. Families with young children is more my typical clientele, but I had decided recently that if I received inquiries for seniors, that I would not turn them down. I wanted to see if maybe it was something I could enjoy. This is actually the first time I had shot a guy for senior portraits. I have to say that it was a lot of fun! Shooting older clients (ones who will actually stand where I tell them to) allows for a certain level of creativity that's not possible with the little ones. I'm able to have much more control of my background and composition than I do when I'm chasing a two year old. And Bradley and Emily were so much fun. I really enjoyed trying to capture their personalities. I think this is something I would like to add to my portfolio in the future for sure.
