Oh, What a Night - Summit High School Prom Portrait Session | Spring Hill, TN PhotographerMy blog title is totally an assumption, since I didn't actually get to go to the prom. But having observed these four friends at our outdoor photo session at Thompson Station Park, I can't imagine that the Summit High School 2016 Prom was anything but epic. Riley's mother hired me to photograph this exciting day, and wanted to include the group of four in the photos. Riley and Dylan have been dating almost two years. Dylan is now a Freshman at Tennessee Tech, but came back to escort Riley to her Senior Prom. Olivia and Riley have been friends since the Seventh grade, but two years ago, Olivia moved to Utah. Olivia was able to fly back to Nashville to be able to go to the prom with her old friends, with their friend Marvin as her date.
This was really a great group of kids to photograph...they were so much fun. And they looked stunning in their prom attire! The girls looked gorgeous in their prom dresses, and the guys cleaned up pretty good as well.
Some of you who know me well know that I have been hesitant to get into the business of Senior Portraits. The main reason is that what inspires me about photography is to capture connections between people, and shooting seniors usually involves photographing one person. What I love about shooting families is to get that joy and connection that exists between family members. Well that was certainly not an issue with this prom session. The connections between this group of friends was so fun to capture. So many giggles and just pure joy at being together again. So maybe I need to set up senior sessions, but require them to be done with your best friends?
I hope I was able to capture the amazing bond between this group. And I hope that their night last night was just as amazing as I imagine it to be.
