It was such a cold October day for this shoot with the Christian Family, but the beautiful fall color was starting to peak through in the trees at Thompson Station Park.  Our session was a little earlier in the day than I usually prefer to shoot, but the golden colored light dancing through the trees was spectacular. God is the ultimate artist and there is no other time of year so beautiful than Fall.   

I met the Christian Family at their maternity shoot and then was blessed to be asked to document baby Grayson's birth story.  That seems like only a few days ago but now he's five months old and such a sweet blessing to his family.  Margaret was also a part of my #thisismotherhood project.  For her statement for the project, she talked about her struggles to become a mother...having tried for years to become pregnant.  

She wrote, "After making some changes in my personal life, I found the love of my life at age 37 and understood true love and happiness for the first time. After being married for 9 months I was totally shocked to find myself pregnant and totally ecstatic about it. That pregnancy ended in miscarriage shortly thereafter, but I then knew it was possible and knew deep within my heart that I was meant to be a mother."  

Every time I photograph their family, I now think about that Garth Brooks song, "Unanswered Prayers." When I look at Margaret and Brian, I can just see in their eyes how completely grateful they are to be parents to these two beautiful children.
