Rodriguez Family Session - A Crazy, Beautiful Mess | Franklin, TN Family PhotographerI texted this mother right after I arrived at Pinkerton Park for our scheduled family session to let her know where I had parked, and that she could find me near the bridge. She texted me back to let me know they were on their way and then wrote, "We are a crazy, beautiful mess, FYI." It was so perfect that she wrote that because I happen to love the crazy, beautiful mess that is young families. Because please tell me who is not a mess most of the time when raising young children? It's messy business. And it makes us all crazy for sure. But it is so beautiful. Every bit of it...even the mess. And these four children are so beautiful. Richard (age 5) was the poser and willing to do anything I asked for a photo. Sweet Eleanor (age 4) was so adorable taking care of her baby brother...her mom says she is a caregiver. Hale (almost 3) wasn't so sure he wanted his picture taken and didn't usually want mom to put him down, but that is just fine since my favorite photos are of children in their mother's arms. But Hale was super excited about the suckers I bring with me, and also about the playground so we we ended up with lots of great shots of him. Adorable, nine month old Jack was so cute and obviously ready to join in the fun chasing around his big siblings. Before each session, I send a little survey to my clients to help me get to know them before a session. That helps me know each of their kids, and to get a general feel for their family so I can do a good job documenting their moments. I was excited about this session because when I read some of Crockett's beautiful words, I feel like she gets me. LOL "It brings me to tears how absolutely exhausted I am every day and how I can hardly remember one day to the next. We truly live in the moment as we hardly have the capacity to live one second behind or in front of where we are currently functioning. It is without a doubt the most rewarding and fulfilling time in our lives. These pictures mean the world to me and I pray I look back and am able to reminisce about their childhood and tell stories through pictures." That's what it is all about for me....capturing moments so we can see the beauty that is today.
