When I arrived at this beautiful Franklin home to photograph this family session, I was immediately in love with all of the gorgeous art on the walls.  Big, beautiful walls of art.  I should have been prepared for that as I already knew that Dad was an artist.  But I have to say it was a little intimidating having the opportunity to photograph the family of such a talented person.  I found it interesting that when I complimented his work, he humbly thanked me and said it was a work in process.  It made me wonder...do we ever think our art is good enough?  Maybe not, and maybe that's OK.  Having been an Engineer for most of my adult life, where the answer was always either right or wrong, I still struggle with my new life where beauty is subjective and my idea of what is right is constantly evolving.  

However what does not change is my constant obsession with capturing those moments in time for a family that go by in a blink of an eye. I cannot think of many things more magical than a baby's first Christmas and a couple's first Christmas as new parents.  I truly fell in love with the Christmas season once my first daughter was born, so I am so happy to be able to capture some of those moments for another family.  

Baby Juliana is two and a half months old and such a joy! Her parents met in Nashville in 2005 and have have traveled the world in the four years they have been married.  Juliana brings a whole new dynamic to their family and they wanted to capture this special time in photographs.  It is obvious they are so in love with their baby girl. They were such a fun family to photograph and I wish them a wonderful first Christmas together with their little one and many more to follow.
