Who says you can't have a fun family photo shoot in the rain? I had a blast with the Myers girls this morning.  We had Harvey Park to ourselves. 

A few months ago,  my friend Christy told me about a photograph she remembered seeing when she was a young teenager at the house of a family she was babysitting for.  It was of their three children, playing in the rain in their raincoats and boots.  She said that the picture touched her and she still remembered it vividly.  I remembered the story because that's the kind of pictures I really want to create.

So a couple weeks ago, it was raining again and I was feeling sorry for myself because I wasn't going to be able to shoot all week because of the bad weather.  But then inspiration struck me and I remembered my conversation with Christy.  So I asked her if all her kids had raincoats and boots and she immediately knew what I was suggesting.  Well, it wasn't that easy because as soon as I decided I wanted to shoot in the rain, it stopped raining....unless her oldest was at school and we wanted to try to get all three girls in the pictures.  

Today, it rained.  I texted Christy and said "It's Raining."  Her response was "We're in."  

Well, the baby wasn't really into it, but the rest of us had a blast.
