“It’s one thing to make a picture of what someone looks like. It’s another to make a portrait of who they are.” -Paul Caponigro

I get kind of emotional looking at these pictures of Kayla that I took last night.  They just capture the essence of her spirit.  She’s the joy in our family full of analytical thinkers.  She loves with her whole heart and is one of the kindest people I know.

I had a homework assignment for one of my Clickin University classes where I had to take a photograph inspired by a piece of classical music by Brahm. I was talking to the girls about my assignment and played the music for them.  Kayla said “It’s a ballet, I can dance for you.”  So that’s what we did.  She danced her little heart out and decided that she loved the music.  I wish we could all notice and appreciate beauty and live in the moment the ways she does.

Kayla does seem to have a kind and sweet spirit about her, she has a large head start on living a full life.
