Local Spotlight: Circa Grill | Spring Hill, TN Family PhotographerObviously, this is a photography blog, and most of the posts I make will revolve around photography or portrait sessions I have shot. However, I want to also occasionally take the opportunity to inform my readers about some of the awesome local stuff happening in the Spring Hill, TN area and to spotlight some of my favorite local businesses. So far, that has included a post about the MOMS Club of Spring Hill and one showing our brand new Port Royal Park Splash Pad. Today, I hesitantly want to tell you about my favorite restaurant in Spring Hill & Thompson Station...hesitantly because I'm not sure I want too many people to know about this hidden gem. If too many people know what they are missing, I might always have to take the time to make a reservation and I'm not so great at that. Circa is located at 1549 Thompson Station Road West. For those of us who have been in the area a while, it's in the building that use to be the Thompson Station Grille....right across from the train depot. Our family has just fallen in love with Circa. Eddie, the general manager is so nice and they entire wait staff is fabulous. And the food that Chef Lance creates is so delicious. I always love the fish, but the nightly specials are always a hit with us as well...I had a pork dish the other night that was one of the best things I have ever eaten. Actually, Bruce ordered it, but I made him swap with me because it was so good and he's a great husband that way. I know a lot of people I have spoken to think that Circa is not for kids. I would like to clarify that while Circa is definitely more of an upscale restaurant than you would normally see around here, they are very welcoming to my children and offer kids meals for $5.99. I probably would discourage you from taking a screaming toddler on date night. But assuming your kids are old enough to sit through a meal without too much drama, it is a perfect place to have a delicious meal without having to get a sitter. Last week, we invited some friends to go with us who had never been before. They were a little hesitant because their youngest daughter has a lot of food allergies and it is often hard to find food for her. The wait staff did an amazing job working with the kitchen staff to find food that she could eat. I know our friends really appreciated knowing that their daughter could safely eat what she was served. Their menus are all posted online so you can see their prices before you choose to go. If you want a little less expensive way to check them out, Sunday brunch is an excellent option. The brunch buffet is $15 for adults and $7 for children. Our kids love it (bacon) and it includes several dessert choices. There are lower price options on the dinner menu, but honestly when we go at dinner we have a hard time not ordering the more expensive items.
