Lucky Ladd Farms Watermelon Festival | Middle Tennessee Family Photographer

July 19, 2015  •  2 Comments

Yesterday, my family spent the day at the Lucky Ladd Farms Watermelon Festival. Lucky Ladd is one of our favorite places to go and we've been enjoying it for years.  Before I went pro, I had entered their yearly photo contest several times, and you might recognize some of my photos (and my kids) on their website and advertising.  This year, they asked me if I would do a shoot of their watermelon festival to use as promotional material and of course I said yes.

The farm has so many things to do.  If you've never been there, you are really missing out.  In the summertime, they have the coolest splash pad with a bubble machine that the kids go wild over.  There is a petting zoo (which Kayla is obsessed with) and a giant playground.  My family always has a blast there, and we especially enjoy their special events, such as the watermelon festival.

Lucky Ladd is in Eagleville, not too far off of 840.  It takes roughly 30 minutes to get there from Spring Hill.

This year, Kayla decided to join the watermelon eating contest.  As I was taking pictures, I noticed that just a couple minutes into the contest, she had an odd look on her face, then she ran off to her daddy and bailed on the contest.  I found out after it was over that she had lost her front tooth.  So that is a fun memory for us to have.  LOL.  I don't think she had much of a chance anyway....apparently the watermelon eating contest is serious business.  These kids were real professionals.  She said she just wanted to join the contest because she was still hungry and wanted more watermelon so that worked for her.

A few infant youngsters more than others. I need to give up that I truly couldn't have considered fakers and thought they were an indication of languid child raising for any circumstance this depended on no significant understanding. That all changed when I had Ollie, my after youth, and he ought to have basically sucked.
