Evans Family Lifestyle Newborn Session | Spring Hill, TN

It was probably about six months ago that I told my best friend that I hated shooting newborns. I was trying too hard. The turning point came when I decided to start doing it my way and not the way that I thought clients wanted it done. Now I've decided that lifestyle newborn sessions are one of my favorite things to shoot. It's a special thing to be invited into someones home just after they've had a baby to capture a little piece of their lives. It is definitely a challenge to not know what kind of environment or lighting you will be facing when you get there. But then that means you get fun surprises, like the beautifully lit hallway by the stairs perfect for dancing sisters.

Baby Hannah was six days old at her session, which was a couple weeks earlier than we had originally planned due to Hannah's decision to enter the world a little earlier than expected. Her big sisters, Sarah (age 6) and Emma (age 4) did such a beautiful job helping with their baby sister during the session. We were also able to capture a shot of the girls with their mother, their grandmother and their great-grandmother. What a special gift to be able to give them.

The family is in the process of building a house and is currently living with family, so these photographs will be a record of the brief transition time when baby Hannah was born.
