Most of my portrait session clients come from referrals.  This family actually found me on google, which was exciting because I have worked hard to create a google presence for myself.  There is actually a lot that goes on to make that happen.  Over the past year, I've learned a lot about Search Engine Optimization (SEO), which is a fancy word for getting google to think my site is worth seeing.  It's nice to see that some of that hard work is paying off.  

And I'm so glad they found me on google, because they were my ideal clients....so much fun to shoot.  One kid is definitely easier to shoot than multiple kids, but also...this kid was a natural. Six year olds are usually easier to control than toddlers in that they will stand where I say and follow directions, but often they have a really awkward, fake smile.  Not Ian...he was a joy to photograph.  No fake, awkward smiles from him. We had the best time.  I especially love the shots of him playing airplane.  

I have to take a moment to complain about the "upgrades" done to Thompson Station Park.  I'm sure that the new playground equipment is much nicer and safer to play on.  But I'm kinda bummed because they replaced my really cool, timeless, natural looking train play structure and replaced it with a loud, brightly colored, modern looking train.   I'm not a fan.  But I do realize the park is not catering to me so I'll get over it. I still love being able to capture children playing on the playground at the end of our sessions though.
