Kickin' it with Logan | Franklin, TN Portrait Photographer

An old friend from college contacted me a month or so ago and wanted to schedule a portrait session for her daughter, Logan.  10 year old Logan just graduated from the 5th grade, and her mom wanted to have a special portrait session just for her to mark this special milestone in her life.  I just love the idea of having a special milestone session for tweens.  Families often make a point of getting professional photographs made of their babies and their seniors, but those middle years are left out.  This beautiful time when children are figuring out who they are and who they will become is so important to capture and remember.

It was a gorgeous day for Logan’s session at Harlinsdale Farms in Franklin, TN.  The weather and the light were perfect.  The evening was windy and added lovely movement to the images.  Logan’s mom had picked this location because she loved the barns and the fences.

Logan is a quiet, serious, reserved girl who loves soccer.  She and her mother worked together on deciding what she would wear for the session.  They chose one casual outfit that they both liked.  Logan doesn’t often like to wear dresses but agreed to wear one for some photos.  What Logan wanted most was photos of her in her soccer uniform because soccer is really a big part of her life right now and she wanted to capture that.  We decided to save the soccer uniform for the end of the session so that she could spend the most time in that outfit and would be in it during the most beautiful light.

She looks beautiful in both the casual outfit and the dress, but I'm pretty sure my favorites are in the soccer uniform. When you focus on the child's passion and love, you cannot go wrong.

Oh my goodness... I thought the first photograph was so good, but as I scrolled thru the pictures, I was amazed when each one was better than the last. Precious, wonderful, beautiful, thought provoking, funny, spirited, along with every other emotional word I can think of, were captured in these photo's of Logan. You have a wonderful talent that shines thru.
