Traveling Photographer - Athens Georgia Outdoor Family SessionYou might remember my best friend Adina and her family from their photo session last year. It was one of my most popular blog posts so far and it's worth checking out if you have a minute. You see we had sort of an issue last year because she had scheduled a family portrait session with me for the Fall busy season months in advance, but then at the last minute her husband booked a work trip out of town. I offered to try to fit her in another night, but she had an idea that was way better. So we printed a giant print of his head (a picture I had taken previously) and stuck it on a stick, and Stick Daddy was born. Scheduling the session was a bit complicated this year though, since they recently moved away from Spring Hill to Athens, Georgia. But if you read my interview on In Beauty and Chaos, you know that Adina is the one who really pushed me and encouraged me to pursue photography full time when I wasn't sure I could do it. So she gets photos even if I have to travel to Georgia to shoot them. Labor day weekend was our first chance to visit, and we had so much fun. Athens is such a cool town, and I also somehow got talked into buying season passes to Six Flags over Georgia (they were so cheap we couldn't pass up the sale). So I think maybe their basement is our new vacation home. Works for me. Adina wanted to include her sister and her nephew in some of the photos. She decided she wanted the photos made at the University of Georgia Athens campus...her Alma Mater and also where they got married. I love it when a portrait location has sentimental value so I thought it was a perfect choice. The kids did a fantastic job this year and I'm really pleased with the pics. I hope she is too so I don't lose my new vacation home. LOL
