Holly's Session at Duck River Books & Downtown Columbia, TN

February 14, 2017  •  1 Comment

When Holly's mom contacted me about booking a session for her 16 year old daughter, she told me about their idea to shoot some photographs at Duck River Books in downtown Columbia, TN.  Holly is an avid reader and I just loved the idea of photographing her at one of her favorite spots.  This adorable little bookstore was a perfect spot and the owners were kind enough to give us permission to shoot there.  The store has lots of personality, with a gorgeous spiral staircase leading up to the second floor.

After shooting in the bookstore, we walked around downtown Columbia to get some outdoor shots.  I'm not sure why I have never shot on the square in Columbia before, but I will absolutely be adding that to my list of go-to spots.  It has all the interesting walls and architecture of downtown Franklin without as many people to shoot around.  There is also this little alley next to a restaurant that I just loved.

Holly was such a fun girl to get to know.  I so enjoyed spending the afternoon with her.  She reminded me of a friend of mine, and also a little bit of my oldest daughter.  She is a Junior at Spring Hill High School where she plays flute in the band, and she hopes to study Science in college, possibly at MTSU. I'm certain the future has a lot of great moments in store for her.

These are wonderful. They capture so many wonderful traits and looks. So glad you had them taken. I see so much of both her parents in these. Lana and Frank both love books so it is very fitting their daughter loves them too. I see her sense of humor and personality in the photos. These are lovely. I hope some day she looks back and appreciates how beautiful they are. These are the beautiful years. Thanks for having them taken and sharing them with us.
