I was so excited when my old friend from college booked me for a family photos session. I had not had the opportunity yet to meet her adorable little boy. I absolutely adore photographing toddlers, and one and half year old Sebastian was no exception. Mona and Jonathan wanted to have the session at their beautiful home, which sits on a gorgeous piece of land in College Grove that was perfect for a family portrait session.

We could not have asked for a more beautiful day.  The weather was perfect for playing and exploring outside.  I've recently been trying to figure out why SOOOO many people are scrambling to book photo sessions in October & November when September is a perfectly lovely option.  Don't get me wrong...I love the fall colors too, but its hard to predict exactly when the color will be at it's peak and it's never a guarantee.  Booking a September session lets you beat the crazy holiday rush that starts in October and gives you plenty of time to order cards and gifts for the holidays.  And you just couldn't ask for more perfect weather.  

Sebastian and I became fast friends while hanging out in his favorite place...a trailer in the yard.  It's maybe not your typical play structure, but it was the perfect spot for gathering sticks and acorns, banging on the rails to make music and general exploring.  This is why I love photographing toddlers so much.  They are so fascinated by their surroundings and see everything with such new eyes. I wish that we kept this childhood fascination with the world around us as we grow older. We could learn a lot from little guys like Sebastian.
