Celia's Newborn Portrait Session - Family of 6 | Spring Hill, TN Newborn Photographer

August 05, 2015  •  4 Comments

So this is the understatement of the year coming from someone with only two children, but having four kids under the age of seven is hard work.  I'm so impressed with this beautiful mama and her ability to juggle it all.  So many moms would forgo scheduling a family newborn portrait session because it was too much, but this mom recognizes how very important it is to capture those early moments as a newborn gets to know the rest of her family.  I've had the pleasure of spending a lot of time with this family over the past couple months between maternity family pictures, a Fresh 48 newborn session at the hospital, and now their lifestyle newborn session at home.  I've made some friends along the way, and that's one of the best parts of this job.  Little Joey blew me a kiss when it was time for me to go.  Priceless. Maybe it's just because I carry a lot of suckers with me to every shoot, but still.  :)

Also, I'm going to admit that photographing four kids under the age of seven is hard work.  So for those of you out there not scheduling a family session because "my one toddler won't stand still", let me tell you right now that one toddler is no trouble at all.  Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy, as my own seven year old would say.  Melissa said that the most important shot that she wanted us to get was a family shot.  So that's what we worked hard on, and that's definitely a challenge with this many kids that are so young.  In order to hold the kids attention (particularly two year old Joey), I asked Melissa if she had any bubbles.  It only worked for a couple of moments, but it was just long enough. I'll take it.  Because we focused on getting Melissa that family shot, I don't feel like I got as many images of just baby Celia that I would like, but like Melissa said, we have lots of those from Celia's Fresh 48 hospital session.
