You may remember sweet baby Camila from reading her birth story, or from her newborn lifestyle portrait session.    Camila's mom, Karen, contacted me a couple months ago about scheduling Camila's three month old photo session, but she wanted to talk to me about doing something a little different.  She wanted to include some very special friends of the family (and Godparents to the children) in the photo session.  Karen and Joseph have been blessed to have a wonderful circle of friends who support them in raising their family, and they wanted a record of their family's connection with this wonderful group of people.  So we scheduled a outdoor lifestyle photo session that was near a playground so that we could capture the interactions between the children and the adults that loved them so. 

I had the pleasure of meeting several of these friends at Karen's baby shower and at Camila's birth, and to witness the beautiful support they provided.   Raising a family is SO hard, and it really does take a village.  The family you are born with is so important, but so is the family that you choose.  Shooting this session made me especially thankful for the people who surround me and my children and support them as they learn and grow. 

I am feeling especially blessed with some very mild weather this week in Middle Tennessee.  It was a beautiful evening and our only issues was some wasps that found little Alex.  Thankfully all was made better by the lollipops I always keep in my camera bag.  (Many children in the area are aware of exactly where I keep these in my bag, including Alex.)  

Sadly, Alex's Godfather Joe passed away two years ago, and in his memory, Karen brought a picture of him to be included in the session.
